Quantum Simulation of Geometry and Topology

Abstract: 

We present schemes for quantum simulation of geometry. In particular, we discuss how to implement a synthetic background curved space-time, as well as the construction of artificial topology. One of the ingredients of our approach is to mimic an extra dimension by the appropriate tuning of internal degrees of freedom. In all cases, we discuss experimental signatures of these proposals.
